Learn more about me

I grew up in small towns in North Western Canada. One of my early passions was swimming and I became a swimming instructor and lifeguard in my teens and continued teaching swimming through my University years. This was the beginning of my passion for education, for helping others to learn, and for international humanitarian work. After graduating from University, I got a job with the Canadian Red Cross, and my interest in how people learn and grow in an organizational setting continued to develop — as did an interest for life beyond my Western roots.

I packed my bags and moved to Eastern Canada to do a Masters Degree in Adult Education. I met a French Canadian fellow who was to become my husband and partner in international adventures. We worked overseas in such varied locations as Romania, Pakistan, the former Yugoslavia and Cambodia.

We then landed, and stayed, for more than a decade in Geneva, Switzerland. I joined MANNET, an international consulting firm specializing in working with international organizations and continued developing my interest in how people learn and grow.

I have travelled extensively for both personal and professional reasons, travelling to where ever in the world my clients need me to be. This exposure to different cultures has been fascinating at the personal level and invaluable at the professional level.

After living abroad for more than twenty years we returned to Canada and set up in the charming village of Eastman, just outside of Montréal. Hushagen International Inc. was born!

I set up Hushagen International (HI) Inc, as a boutique consulting and coaching firm. I'm still the owner and Managing Director of MANNET SARL, Switzerland (established in 1994). Both Hushagen International Inc. (Canada) and MANNET SARL (Switzerland) have been created to serve the niche community of international organizations and the managers who work there.

I draw on a small group of well trained and highly experienced coaches and consultants for my projects. We have worked with more than 100 organizations and travelled around the world in service of our clients.
